Welcome to Nurturing for Me. This website offers short courses in self-care using the theory of Chinese medicine to promote balance and harmony within the body. They focus on a self-care routine covering the theory of the five elements, meridian theory, acupressure, and shiatsu techniques. This will help you develop a deeper understanding of your mind and body connection.
The courses are reasonably priced and offer great value for the benefits they provide. They are suitable for beginners or for therapists, yoga, Qiqong, Tai chi teachers, bodyworkers or reiki practitioners who wish to add to their training.
A full course manual is available for all the courses as well as a CPD certificate on completion which is accredited by the International Guild of Complementary Therapists (IGCT)
Ampuku massage for the digestive system
This course uses the Eastern medicine approach to help alleviate digestive problems.
Ampuku massage a type of abdominal Massage. It is a therapeutic massage that works on the organs to heal the digestive and gastrointestinal system to help rejuvenate them and help bring balance.
Through Chinese medicine theory we will look at the stomach, spleen, large Intestine, conception vessel meridians and various acupressure points. These help heal the body at the physical and psychological level.
In addition the course contains a short acupressure routine to be practiced on one-self and a case study. An assessment is to be completed and also to some self-reflection questions.
Materials required are some towels, cushions for support and a yoga mat or blanket for placing the floor for the case study.

Healing back pain
The aim of this workshop is to provide awareness to help alleviate back problems. Back pain is one of the most common health problems that people experience.
Through Chinese medicine theory we will look at the Kidney, bladder, Gallbladder and Governing vessel meridians and various acupressure points. This will help heal the body at the physical and psychological level.
In addition the course contains a short shiatsu and acupressure routine to be practiced on one-self and a case study. An assessment is to be completed and also to some self-reflection questions.
Materials required are some towels, cushions for support and a yoga mat or blanket for placing on the floor for the case study.

Boosting energy and managing fatigue
This course uses the Eastern medicine approach to help alleviate fatigue. It is normal to feel tired but if this continues and shows no sign of improvement then it has to be addressed. Chronic Fatigue syndrome, post viral fatigue, fibromyalgia, long-covid all cause fatigue are rooted in similar immune system abnormalities.
The approach will be through Chinese medicine theory, its meridian system and acupressure. We will look at the Heart, the Small intestine, Pericardium, Triple warmer, Lungs and Large intestine meridians and various acupressure points. These help heal the body at the physical and psychological level.

This course provides awareness of women's health. In Chinese medicine, menopause is viewed as an energetic imbalance in the body. The body's energy, meridians or pathways become depleted and imbalanced.
We will look at the Kidney, Liver and spleen meridians and the various acupressure points. This will help heal the body at the physical and psychological level.
